Not everyone looks forward to Valentine's Day, if you’re looking for something do while single on Valentine's Day, we’ve got you covered.

Axe Throwing

Nothing says fun like throwing axes and working out some repressed aggression or stress. Here in Edmonton, you can visit Axe Monkeys, just 10 minutes from our Winford Apartments. If you’ve never thrown an axe before, you’re in luck. Each axe throwing session begins with a comprehensive instruction and safety information. Open daily, call 780-667-4293 or visit their website to book your session at Axe Monkeys.

Indulge in Sweets

One benefit to celebrating Valentine's Day alone is that you don’t have to share the sweets. Head over to Made By Marcus on Whyte Avenue, just steps from our Granville Suites for one of a kind ice cream treats. Try the seasonal Hazy Day Sundae, a valentines day cake, or an ice cream cone from their exclusive February flavours. Or, get out of the cold and visit the Little Duchess Bake Shop on 124th Street for some mouth watering French pastries. Just steps from our Concord Apartment, you’ll find Triple Chocolate Brownies with pecans and chocolate drizzle or Praline Chocolatine croissants with praline glaze and candied hazelnut chocolate crumbs. Whatever sweets you enjoy, you’ll find them here.

Explore the City

Edmonton is a fascinating city filled with countless opportunities to explore, absorb, and share. The Silver Skate Festival is back at Hawrelak Park February 10th through the 20th. This ten day event is family friendly and aims to celebrate culture, art, education, and recreation. Explore the Snow Sculptures Garden to view the massive magical creations sculpted from snow. Other attractions include fire sculptures, skate races, winter market, and of course all the festival food you could ask for. This free event is just 10 minutes from our Astoria Apartments.

Tour an Attraction

Just because you’re only one half of a couple doesn’t mean you can’t go on tours through the city’s best attractions. The Telus World of Science is a fascinating place filled with countless opportunities to learn, explore, and enjoy. Take in their planetarium experience from the Zeidler Dome, learn all about the Blue Whale, or explore under the sea in the IMAX theatre. Find the Telus World of Science Museum just 5 minutes from our Barrymore Apartments.
