Edmonton has many awesome attractions, including its public library.
Libraries are about more than just reading. They're about bringing communities together.
The Edmonton Public Library has 21 branches across the city, most of which are minutes from our Edmonton apartment buildings.
At each branch, you'll find braille materials, audio books, large-print books, DVDs, reference materials, hardcover and soft cover books, magazines, graphic novels, and so much more. If your branch doesn't have a copy of the book you're searching for, they'll find it for you through their interlibrary loan system, or you can borrow it electronically through their online services.
Put down the book and get creative! The Makerspace lets you make your own creations with their 3D printers. You can also make a paperback book with their espresso book machine, get creative at a workstation, play with their gaming consoles, use a green screen or sound booth, and convert your VHS to something modern with their digital conversion hardware.
There are also monthly and weekly programs available for all ages. Kids can get homework help, adults can learn English, and children can play. During March Break, all branches will have a variety of fun activities and programs for children of all ages. View the program guide and register your family for some fun! The library also has themed programs for holidays, summertime, and winter break.
Access the internet for free at any branch. Use their desktop computers, or work on your own device with their WiFi while you visit. Each branch also has Chromebooks, Raspberry Pi Computer kits, and digital cameras to loan.
