The Art Gallery of Alberta is the oldest cultural institution in Alberta. The 85,000 square foot AGA building was founded in 1924 and is home to over 6,000 works of art. The building itself is a work of art, referencing both the North Saskatchewan River and the Aurora Borealis with its angular windows and winding steel ribbon.
